Australia Day Awards Nomination

Gladstone Mindcare are excited to announce that we have been nominated for the 2026 Gladstone Regional Councils Australia Day Awards in the Community Event Award category for our Queensland Mental Health Week event 'Gladstone Mindcare Community Connect' in October 2025.

The Community Event Award recognises the outstanding achievement by an individual or group that have delivered community events that generate civic pride and connect our community.

Our annual Queensland Mental Health Week event once again brought together local Mental Health and Wellbeing services to showcase their incredible work to the Gladstone community. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant program featuring a local art exhibition, a book launch from a talented local author, inspiring lived experience speakers, a free BBQ lunch, and engaging activities at each of the service stalls.

With over 20 stallholders, more than 250 community members in attendance, and visits from local councillors and state MPs, the day was a true celebration of community connection and support. We are deeply grateful for the nomination and the opportunity to shine a spotlight on mental health and wellbeing in our region!

That's a wrap for 2025!

Thank you to everyone—participants, volunteers, partners, and supporters—who contributed to making 2025 such a meaningful year. We look forward to continuing this important work with our community in 2026.

Delivering Suicide Prevention

We recently had the pleasure of delivering Conversations for Life early suicide prevention training to the team at Rio Tinto’s Yarwun site.

This program moves the dial from suicide crisis to very early suicide prevention. Participants develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to be READY, WILLING, and ABLE to have early conversations with people who are becoming vulnerable, experiencing distress or starting to withdraw.

A big thank you to Rio Tinto and all the staff who took part in the training!
